OSCP - The gauntlet

What’s going on?

So for the next little bit, I’m going to be going through the Penetration Testing with Kali course syllabus. I don’t necessarily have a problem with their pricing, their offerings are top notch, but I don’t want to pay for lab time and waste it. This is a rather high level certification that is based on applicable knowledge, so none of my multiple choice tricks are going to help me here, so I’m going to approach it from a systemic way, make sure I have a deep understanding of all of the techniques outlined, and THEN I will purchase the labs as a verification of skills before taking the exam.

It really helps that I’m not on any sort of time crunch here, this is purely for my own knowledge, so I will not be forced into moving past a section due to constraints, and will be free to dive as deep into a tool as I feel is needed to properly utilize it in the field when I need it.

If you want to join me on this journey, I welcome you. I am going to be creating novel tools and scripts, mostly in Bash, Python, and GO, taking notes, and exploring the capabilities of a lot of interesting tools. This is mostly for me to get my certification, so I probably am not going to deep dive into tutorial mode, but I will try my best to offer tidbits and pointers as I move along.
